Professional Experience
Mr. Castellano has approximately thirty-years of professional experience in the construction, real estate and insurance industries focusing on construction advisory, insurance and contract claims, and litigation advisory services to both public and private clients. Mr. Castellano has served as an expert witness in disputes related to project delays and cost overruns. Mr. Castellano served as a Mediator with the NYC School Construction Authority.
Areas of Expertise
Mr. Castellano has been engaged in resolving some of the largest and most complex contract and insurance claims, schedule delay evaluations, and business disputes such as those resulting from natural disasters, subcontractor defaults, and contractual issues. Throughout his career, Mr. Castellano has evaluated and resolved millions of dollars in damage claims and disputes.
Mr. Castellano has analyzed delays, disruption, lost productivity and damages on a variety of projects including steel mill plants, military facilities, hotels/resorts, hospitals, educational facilities, residential towers, and light rail systems, among others. He has been involved in insurance matters that included claim preparation, impacts to the project schedule, damages assessment and resolution of Builder’s Risk, Subcontractor Default and Property Damage claims resulting from various types of losses.
Mr. Castellano has prepared independent estimates of the costs the contractor may be entitled to recover under relevant contract clauses. He has performed cost and schedule reviews and provided project management oversight and on-site assistance on several projects. His dispute and consulting assignments have included both domestic and international projects.
