Fernando Fernandez is a Consultant with LitCon Group, LLC. He joined LitCon after graduating from the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business, with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Accounting.
Areas of Expertise
Prior to joining LitCon full-time, Mr. Fernandez was an intern with LitCon. He provided support with cases primarily concerning damages arising from government, military, and energy contracts. Mr. Fernandez has provided in depth examination and scrutiny of costs during discovery of a government contract engagement. He has experience with document searches, building databases, and analyzing large datasets to determine the proper costs to include in claims. Mr. Fernandez performed research of FASB codification related to the application of GAAP in a regulated industry.
Mr. Fernandez previously participated as a coordinator for an IRS tax assistance program earning him recognition from the IRS, State of Maryland, and Montgomery County. As a coordinator, he trained volunteers for various positions such as tax preparer, intake interviewer, and quality reviewer. In addition, Mr. Fernandez conducted final review of tax documents, used for preparation of tax returns, before electronic filing.
